Bridges / Dentures
Here at Savana our team has extensive training and experience in fitting bridges to restore the function and appearance of teeth. A dental bridge is a conventional method of replacing one tooth or multiple missing teeth by connecting the replacement prosthetic tooth crown to restorations on the adjacent teeth. The artificial tooth is then supported and kept in place by the neighbouring teeth. Bridges can be made from either metal or ceramics or even a combination of both, depending on the cosmetic requirements of the patient.
Some bridges can also be fixed to dental implants which are placed in the jaw, if you have several teeth next to each other that are missing. As a practice, Savana has particular expertise in implant treatment and placing implant retained bridges, having successfully treated many patients.
Once you have a bridge fitted, we will advise you on how to best take care of your oral hygiene to ensure your bridge lasts and you avoid plaque build-up. Contact us today if you have any questions about your teeth.
As a result of advanced tooth decay or certain genetic conditions, some people lose all their teeth in either or both jaws. This can have a devastating effect on people’s confidence and their ability to chew food properly. One relatively inexpensive solution for this is having dentures fitted. A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give you mouth a natural appearance. Your denture will be made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove it for cleaning.
When you wear a denture for the first time it may get some getting used to when speaking or eating and chewing. It is important that you take extra care in your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. The hygienist will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this. At Savana our team has training and experience in delivering denture treatment to patients who are missing some or all of their teeth.
